Editors play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of publications at Cognix Press Publisher.
1 Role of the Editor
Evaluate submitted manuscripts fairly and based solely on academic merit.
Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the peer-review process.
Assign manuscripts to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.
Make final decisions on acceptance, revision, or rejection based on reviewer recommendations.
2 Ethical Responsibilities
Editors must not have any conflict of interest with the manuscripts they handle.
Ensure manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
Maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities.
Follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for handling ethical issues.
3 Editorial Process
Receive manuscript from the editorial office.
Conduct initial screening for scope, quality, and formatting compliance.
Assign to a minimum of two independent peer reviewers.
Collect and evaluate reviewer reports.
Communicate the decision (Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject) to the author with constructive feedback.
Oversee revisions to ensure reviewer comments are adequately addressed.
Timeline
Editors are expected to complete the review process within 4–6 weeks of manuscript assignment. Timely communication with authors and reviewers is essential.
